IPO GUIDE

How to check IPO allotment status

Use the registrar or exchange website to check whether shares were allotted after an IPO closes.

Where to check allotment

The most direct route is usually the IPO registrar's official allotment-status page. Depending on the issue, investors may also be able to check through NSE or BSE services.

What you normally need

  • PAN
  • IPO application number
  • Demat account / DP ID and Client ID, depending on the registrar

Step-by-step

  1. Open the official registrar page from the IPO offer documents or exchange announcement.
  2. Select the IPO name.
  3. Enter PAN, application number or demat details.
  4. Complete the captcha if required.
  5. Submit to view the number of shares allotted, if any.

Why might you receive no allotment?

In heavily oversubscribed retail issues, valid applications can exceed the shares available. Allotment follows the rules described in the offer document and applicable SEBI framework. Not receiving shares does not necessarily mean there was an error in your application.

When is blocked money released?

For UPI/ASBA applications, blocked funds corresponding to unsuccessful or partially successful applications are normally released according to the issue timetable. Contact your bank, broker or registrar if the mandate remains blocked beyond the expected timeline.

Safety: Use only the official registrar/exchange links. Never share OTPs, UPI PINs or account passwords to check allotment.
